Alba Carrillo, Verena Meliss, Sofia Milatova, Bojana Klincov, Maria Garcia, Celia Cerviño, Laetitia Pulchartova and Estela Perez-Somarriba have made it through the qualifying round and join the other 24 players, including Wimbledon Junior champion Ane Mintegi.
The Araba World Tennis Tour is moving forward, despite the rain that today caused delays in the scheduled matches, although it was finally possible to play them all. There was a lot at stake and the tennis players once again showed great tennis on the courts of the Peña Vitoriana.
Alba Carrillo, Verena Meliss, Sofia Milatova, Bojana Klincov, Maria Garcia, Celia Cerviño, Laetitia Pulchartova and Estela Perez-Somarriba have passed the preliminary phase and, therefore, will complete the final phase draw with 32 players who will start this Tuesday the round of 32.
The first matches will start at 9:00 am. Among the crossings, it is worth mentioning the match between Marina Basolls, number 306 of the world and the Finnish Anastasia Kulikova, the duel of Japanese Mai Hontama against Haruka Kaji, or the Spanish duel between Alba Carrillo number 18 of the national ranking and Celia Cerviño number 22.
The doubles tournament also kicks off, with the first crossings starting at 12:00 noon. Mercedes Aristegui and Isabel Pascual will face Valeria Koussenkova and Diana Mihail. The doubles debut of Ane Mintegi and her Andorran partner Victoria Jimenez is expected not before 13:30, rain permitting. They will face Czech Laetitia Pulchartova and Russian Anastasia Zakharova.
