This Tuesday 12 matches will be played, five of them in doubles, a modality that also starts at the Peña Vitoriana Tenis Club courts.

After the preliminary phase played between Sunday and Monday, eight players (Celia Cerviño, Jenny Duerst, Sofia Milatova, Yeonwoo Ku, Verena Meliss, Laetitia Pulchartova, Flavie Brugnone, Adrienn Nagy), have won the prize of moving on to an interesting final phase that will begin this Tuesday.

Throughout the day, 12 matches will be played, seven in singles and five in doubles, a competition that also starts. The first matches will start at 9:30 a.m. and not before 10:30 a.m. the following matches in the singles category, in addition to the last one at 5:00 p.m., which is also the starting time for the first doubles crosses.

It is worth mentioning the debut in Vitoria of the Chinese Lin Zhu, top 100 of the WTA ranking and number 1 seed of the event in Alava. In her first match she will face China’s Adithya Karunaratne. She is one of the big favorites along with the winner of the Vitoria tournament in 2019, the Spanish Cristina Bucsa, 126 WTA and number 2 seed.

The Austrian Lizete Cabrera, seeded 4 or the Swiss Lulu Sun, number 8, will also step on the courts of the Peña Vitoriana for the first time. Among the national players, Eva Guerrero, ranked 343rd in the world, and Berta Gutiérrez, from Cantabria, although she belongs to the Basque club Santurtzi, will enter the competition. From 17:00 there will be an interesting Spanish clash between Lucia Cortez number 30 of the Spanish ranking and Claudia Hoste the 31.

The doubles will also have a special interest, with the presence of two players from the organizing club, Marta García from Vitoria and the Ukrainian Karina Novikova, player welcomed by the Alava club two months ago. Both have already played their individual matches in what was their first contact with an ITF 60,000 tournament.
