The Spanish player doubles in the Araba World Tennis Tour, after winning the singles and doubles titles.

From less to more. Rebeka Masarova reached the final of the II edition of the World Tennis Tour “Araba en femenino” held at the Peña Vitoriana courts in her best version.

The blows at supersonic speed followed one after the other on the Motor Gorbea center court. Mintegi wanted to please her public and went for the second set. It seemed that the reaction of the player from Guipuzcoa would end up taking the match to the third set. Both players kept their serve as a great treasure. Masarova’s experience helped her to break Mintegi’s serve in the ninth game. She was able to finish off the match in the tenth game, to take the set 6-4 and win a title that makes her add 80 WTA points and move up in the world ranking.

From ITF 25.000 to 60.000

After the 1st edition of 2019, the success of organization and the repercussion it had in Basque and national media, the club La Peña Vitoriana TC wanted to go a step further, with the aim of continuity and consolidation. The institutional support, with Diputación de Álava, Vitoria City Council and Basque Government through Basque Tour, has been key for the bet on an event of this range and categories.

In 2019, the ITF 25,000 distributed a total of $25,000 in prize money among the participants. The ITF World Tennis Tour is the name applied to all ITF tournaments played from the Junior circuit to the men’s $25,000 and women’s $100,000 tournaments, so the Alava capital would enter in a rank 2 of relevance, behind the WTA Tour, and tournaments with prize money of $100,000.
