The 5th edition of the international tournament ARABA World Tennis Tour FEMENINO counts the days for its beginning, next July 14th. In this 5th edition, for the second year in a row, it will be an ITF $100,000, a higher rank that once again places the event as the best in the Basque Country and one of the best in Spain.

After those held in 2019, 2021 and 2022, in 2023 it went one step higher, and recently received the Tournament Recognition 2023 star, a badge that recognizes it as one of the 22 best women’s ITF tournaments in the world. This reflects the important bet on the part of the Peña Vitoria Tennis Club in consolidating this event that will turn Vitoria-Gasteiz into the world center of tennis between July 14 and 21.

It is a tournament organized by the Peña Vitoria Tennis Club, and supported by all members. The club has made a great effort in recent years in the training of national line judges and referees who are part of the structure of the entity. In addition, it has, once again, the institutional support, mainly from the Provincial Council of Alava, the City Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Basque Government and Fundación Vital, as well as private and local companies that support this event, without forgetting the Spanish Tennis Federation and the Alava and Basque tennis federations.

Today at the official presentation, held at the Balconada de San Miguel, the main local institutions were present.

The Councillor for Sport and Health, Ana Lopez de Uralde has highlighted, “the great impact on sports, tourism and economic level in addition to put us on the map as an international sporting event”. In addition, she wanted to value “the work of Peña Vitoriana Tennis Club from its beginnings as W25 to what it is today, a consolidated W100 tournament,” she stressed.

For her part, the deputy of sport, Ana del Val, spoke about “the importance of having in Araba with a consolidated tournament that is the celebration of women’s sport with almost a hundred players in a circuit that ensures that it will be a spectacle. It will be a source of inspiration in women’s sports and will continue to break flags,” she said.
