After months of work, the Peña Vitoriana Tenis Club launches its most ambitious project with which it wants to take tennis to all corners, with a special section for women and the most disadvantaged social sectors.

The values of sport and tennis, are the great supports on which VOLEA-For women’s tennis is born and sustained.

A tennis and social program that will activate different actions aimed at:

-Fight for equal opportunities in sport.

-Encourage the practice of sports

-Give visibility to women’s sports

-Recovering the authentic values of sport.

VOLEA has four distinct guidelines:

-VOLEA for EQUALITY

-VOLEA for ALL

-VOLEA for THEM

-VOLEA for SPORT

ACTIONS TO BE UNDERTAKEN

Visits to schools with TALKS AND CLINICS.

Objective: To encourage the practice of sports among girls and boys and bring the tennis base closer to them. Tennis days will also be held at the Peña Vitoriana with workshops, a clinic and individual and double matches.

Activities in Vitoria: TENNIS STREET, ESPACIO VOLEA, ESPACIO SOLIDARIO.

Objective: To develop the activity in the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca to attract the society of Vitoria.

Solidarity action with the aim of helping the most disadvantaged groups.

International camp with the aim of promoting the practice of tennis in a developing country. It will be carried out with the help of an NGO yet to be determined.

CONFERENCES with renowned tennis players to be determined. The objective is to make women’s tennis visible from the experience of our guests.

 

III WORLD TENNIS TOUR “Araba en femenino”.

This is the most important tennis tournament in the Basque Country. A tournament scoring for the international circuit and supervised by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

The club faces an ambitious 3rd edition, but without specifying if it will be able to repeat the successful impact of the W60,000 or if it will be able to aspire to more, which would raise the competitive level of the tennis players who will come to Vitoria. About 120 players from all countries, starting from number 100 in the WTA world ranking.

The tournament is structured in three parts:

-Tournament Isa del Campo: July 9-16.

-Preliminary phase: July 17-19

-Final phase tournament: 19-24 July

A total of 18 qualifying matches, 31 finals matches, plus 15 doubles matches.
